Innovative Thinking with TRIZ
Dr. Anatoly Agulyansky
Abstract:
The word "innovation" surrounds us—in the workplace, bank, pharmacy, gym, and beyond. It has become synonymous with success, but do we truly understand what innovation is? More importantly, do we know how to innovate?
In my presentation, I will explore the essence of innovation and what it takes to be an innovator. True innovation requires a systematic approach driven by creative thinking tools. It is not just about change but about meaningful change that brings real value.
Engineering systems "speak" to us through failures, offering opportunities for innovation. Each failure is an invitation to innovate, yet too often, we must fix the issue and take the chance to improve. The key to genuine innovation lies in properly using tools and methodologies that help identify problems, uncover root causes, model systems and processes, and generate creative solutions.
During my talk, I will address two fundamental questions: What should we innovate, and how should we innovate? I will demonstrate these concepts through real-world examples, using AI-assisted problem definition and powerful tools like System Functional Modeling and Process Functional Modeling.
