Dear TRIZ Colleagues and WTSP Members, 28 October,  2021,

Toru Nakagawa (OGU, WTSP Project Leader)

Hello, How are you, your family, and people in your country?WTSP Appeal 2021.691

Since my last announcement (Sept. 16), I have updated my website, "TRIZ Home Page in Japan", three times:

       http://www.osaka-gu.ac.jp/php/nakagawa/TRIZ/eTRIZ/

[1]  WTSP Appeal 2021 and WTSP Paper at ETRIA TFC 2021 (T. Nakagawa, D. Mann,M. Orloff, S. Dewulf, S. Litvin, V. Souchkov)

[2] Internet Surveys of TRIZ Sites in 39 Countries

[3] Re-Imagining The Contradiction Matrix: Matrix 2022 (Darrell Mann)

-----------------------------------------------

[1]  WTSP Appeal 2021 and WTSP Paper at ETRIA TFC 2021 "World WTSP Catalogs of TRIZ Sites and Around-TRIZ Sites,

Let's Make Them Attractive and Useful !" (Toru Nakagawa, Darrell Mann, Michael Orloff, Simon Dewulf, Simon Litvin, Valeri Souchkov)

This page posts our WTSP paper presented at ETRIA TFC2021, which was held on Sept. 22 - 24, 2021 online organized by

      Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, Italy.

    (A) Slides/video:

The Conference requested video presentations for only 5 minutes.

Thus we made "WTSP Appeal 2021" with 8 slides and video record of 5 min 29 sec.

They are posted in my website in .html, .pdf, and .mp4. The first and the last slides are attached below.

(Note:  We also gave a presentation at Japan TRIZ Symposium (Sept. 2-3, 2021).  22 slides in English may be of some help

       for you English readers.)

     (B) Paper:

The paper we submitted on Jun. 29 was published in the Proceedings and is posted in our website in .html and in .pdf.

[2]  Internet Surveys (4th round) of TRIZ Sites in Individual

Countries ==> 39 Countries + 3 language groups  (Toru Nakagawa) Following 8 countries are added in the Survey lists (Oct. 7):

       Pakistan (11 sites) , Sri Lanka (6) , Bangladesh (3) , Vietnam (24), Singapore (15), Philippines (11), Hong Kong (16), Indonesia (37)

[3] "Matrix 2022: Re-Imagining The Contradiction Matrix" Darrell Mann, paper presented at ETRIA TFC2021.

Posted here in English and in Japanese (Oct. 14, 2021)

I read the paper the day before the TFC presentation and was amazed with its contents.

I asked the author and got the permission to translate the paper into Japanese and to post it here both in Japanese and in English.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the author.

As you know well, the author, Darrell Mann, analyzed patents all over the world and greatly improved the TRIZ Contradiction

Matrix into Matrix2003 and then into Matrix2010.

He has been continuing his patent-analysis research project at Systematic Innovation.

This paper describes his latest developments:

     (1) The "impact" of the contradiction solution (not only the impact on the current situation, but also the impact to be

expected in future) is estimated and used as one of the criteria for recommending the inventive principles.

     (2) For each case of the matrix cell, all the 40 inventive principles are plotted on a two-dimensional graph of

       usage frequency vs impact.

     (3) For each case of the matrix cell, frequently-used combinations of the inventive principles are shown.

     (4) For the cases of conflicts not only between two parameters (dilemma), but also among three (trilemma), and among much

more (even in "complicated" and in "complex" situations), an new algorithm has been developed to recommend inventive principles.

     (5) For implementing all these features, Matrix2022 has been developed newly in the form of an interactive app.

    Let's work Together ! Connected !!

Looking forward to hearing from you,

   Best wishes.

   Toru

Dear TRIZ Colleagues and WTSP Members, 5 August,  2021,

Toru Nakagawa (OGU, WTSP Project Leader)

Hello, How are you, your family, and people in your country?

The Covid-19 pandemic still has serious effects over the world, even though in different degrees and phases in various countries.

In Japan we had the biggest, 'fifth' wave of the pandemic throughout last August, and it seems to be coming down to some extent lately.

Since my last update announcement (Apr. 18), I have been  working on the WTSP project.

I have updated "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" today. http://www.osaka-gu.ac.jp/php/nakagawa/TRIZ/eTRIZ/

[1] Internet Surveys of TRIZ Sites in 34 Countries

[2] Mission and Philosophy of the WTSP Project

[3] I Received the Honor of TRIZ Champion Award from MATRIZ

-----------------------------------------------

[1] Internet Surveys of TRIZ Sites in Individual Countries

The bottom-up activities of enhancing the Beta Edition of the World WTSP Catalogs in each country are much expected

but actually quite inactive this year.

So I started the Internet surveys  (4th round) of TRIZ sites in individual countries for supporting the bottom-up activities.

I use Yahoo! Japan Engine and the keyword TRIZ OR "Systematic Innovation" (OR ТРИЗ).  Google Translator was often

necessary to visit the sites one by one.

Starting in May, I posted the survey results of each country. It now covers 34 countries and 3 language groups (Arabic, Spanish, and Portuguese).

[2] Mission and Philosophy of the WTSP Project

Being triggered by recent discussions inside the Global Co-editors, "Mission and Philosophy of the WTSP Project"

has been written down in full length on the basis of our activities and results for these nearly 4 years.

   (1) Mission of WTSP and the Nature of World WTSP Catalogs,

   (2) Collection and Evaluation of Websites to be included in the WTSP Catalogs,

   (3) Description of Introductions of Individual Websites,

   (4) Finding Websites of Interest in the WTSP Catalogs,

   (5) Some More Issues for Discussions

This article clarifies 'Why' we need the World WTSP Catalogs and 'Why' we are going to take the process

as described in our Practice Guide.

We wish to have your cooperation to make WTSP Catalogs in every country and to introduce your (and many other)

excellent Websites for promoting TRIZ and relevant methods in the world.

[3] I Received the Honor of TRIZ Champion Award from MATRIZ

On Aug. 27 morning I was much surprised with an email, saying that MATRIZ Board voted to offer its TRIZ Champion Award to me .

The Award intends to honor the individuals who significantly contributed to TRIZ deployment worldwide especially with

    "Think outside of the box".

On Sept. 1, I replied to accept the offer with my greatest pleasure of being honored.

In the reply, I described my thoughts and activities for these 24+ years in my own way of "Out of the box",

partly implying "Out of the box (of traditional TRIZ)".

(In the HP page, I added hyperlinks to relevant webpages, for clarifying my thoughts and activities.)

I very much appreciate the open-mindedness of MATRIZ in recognizing my activities.

I am also very grateful for many people who guided, collaborated, supported, and learned together with me

in Japan and in the world during these years.

I wish to keep my activities going on as long as my health allows.

    Let's work Together ! Connected !!

Looking forward to hearing from you,

   Best wishes.

   Toru
